This branch came directly from the Bandon Dunes resort. We dried it to 3%MC.
Because of Madrone’s hardness, we have to stabilize after cutting the holes and before installing the weights.
Prepped for weights
We clean out the stabilizing residue and prepare the surfaces for the adhesive
After the weights are inserted, clamps ensure a tight fit that will hide the seam.
We use a belt sander to apply the necessary lofts and cut the overall shape
We sand the putter to 2000 grit. This gives the stabilized wood a proper shine.
The end grain of the branch is tight and gorgeous
This piece is now ready for a burnt alignment line and a lasered logo of Bandon Dunes.
